EPS Plastic Bearings
High-speed low-cost solution. Lower temperature of 260 degrees can resist almost all chemical liquid corrosion. Not suitable for high load. Bad environment temperature is higher than 135 degrees to be considered additional limit device.
1: continuous use temperature: -200 ℃ ~ + 260 ℃;
2: suitable for dry running, maintenance-free;
3: a low coefficient of friction requirements;
4: For light-load high-speed motion;
5: high chemical resistance;
6: suitable for liquid run;

The max PV value of the EPS series bearing is 0.3N/mm²*m/s which determines the load capacity of bearing is inversely proportional to the speed. Please refer to the chart for more detailed information (Graph EPS-1).
EPS allows the Max static load of 8Mpa, The max compressive deformation rate under the max load is listed in Graph EPS-2, The actual load capacity of bearing is slightly less than 8Mpa, The bearing load is variable against the speed and temperature, Fast speed (Vmax: 2.Om/s) results into higher temperature (Tmax: 260 'C ) which decreases the load capacity of the bearing. Please refer to the Graph EPS-3 for such variation.
The coefficient of friction decreases like the wear resistance with increasing surface speed. In contrast, a higher surface speed has less impact on the coefficient of friction of EPS bearing (Graph EPS-4 and EPS-5). From the figure EPS-6, we could see that the friction factor is variable against the changing of shaft roughness. The recommended shaft roughness is Ra0.3-0.5.
EPS | Dry | Grease | Oil | Water |
Friction coefficient μ | 0.03~0.15 | 0.09 | 0.04 | 0.04 |
The shaft material is an important media for the bearing wearing but EPS is suitable for almost all kinds of shaft materials. Graph EPS-7 shows that the wearing feature of EPS is excellent when the shaft material are hardened chrome steel or hardened steel. Graph EPS-7 shows that the material EPS is most suitable for the rotation operation.
Chemical Resistance of EPS is very good. It can work well in the heavy acid of 65%.
The water absorb rate of EPS is less than 0.1% under the atmospheric pressure while it is less than 0.1 % when the material is immerged into water. The material performance and dimensions of the material is stabilized for the applications under humid environment or even in the water.
EPS can maintain its performance to be stable even exposed in the UV ray for long period.
